Detroit is home to Concert of Colors, one of the nation’s largest free global music festivals 🎶🌍 Concert of Colors began as a one-day event at Chene Park in 1993 and has since grown into a beloved summer tradition in the city with 2026 marking the 35th annual event. Concert of Colors is taking over Midtown Detroit for five days running through the weekend until Sunday, July 19! 📆 Artists from Detroit and around the world will perform music spanning reggae, jazz, blues, soul, folk, gospel, Latin, African, Mexican folk, rock, hip-hop, global fusion and the many sounds and cultures that make out city what it is. 🏛️ Centered at the @Detroit Institute of Arts with indoor and outdoor performances, the event is completely free and also features programming across 12 of Detroit’s leading cultural and arts institutions, including: 🖼️ N’namdi Center for Contemporary Art 🧬 Michigan Science Center 🌆 Detroit Historical Museum 🎺 Detroit Symphony Orchestra 📚 Detroit Public Library 📸 Scarab Club 🎨 MOCAD 💛 Third Man Records 🌍 The Wright Museum 🎭 The Majestic Theatre 🇬🇷 Hellenic Museum of Michigan 🏫 College for Creative Studies Beyond the live performances, you can also experience film screenings, poetry, spoken word, food vendors, children’s activities and family-friendly activities throughout the festival.
