I should note, this is not a church I’m affiliated with, this is a church from a fellow ELCA pastor who was curious for more information on this design. Some background information: the church is in rural North Dakota, in a town of around 200 in a farming region, predominantly made up of Norwegian immigrants. The building was dedicated in 1950 after the original burnt down in 1948, there don’t seem to be any records related to the installation of the stained glass. I thought it might be related to the builders (square, fire for burning down the building, chains that helped carry heavy parts up to the roof) but I think that’s dubious. I suspect there’s a specific reference that I don’t quite know, and hope you can help us out! #progressiveclergy #pastorpauldrees #Lutheran #ELCA
