A bunch of caveats: there are times where someone is threatening tangible harm to others, and that is certainly a time where they can be cast out (Matthew 18:15-20). However, I often see that being invoked to cast out people who are theologically inconvenient, which is profoundly sinful. We are called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and lift one another up.
