Turns out, I didn’t need to do MORE. I needed to stop quitting every time I couldn’t do it perfectly. For the last year, I’ve kept things pretty freaking simple: I lifted dumbbells 3-5x/week. I walked a lot. I progressively challenged myself with heavier weights. I prioritized protein AND carbs. I enjoyed vacations, dinners out and real life. And when I missed a workout or had an “off” week…I didn’t start over. I just kept going. No extreme plan. No hours in the gym. No GLP-1s. No trying to be perfect for 365 days. Just a whole lot of very normal days where I chose to keep showing up. And THAT is what changed everything. Yes, I lost 42 lbs. But I also got stronger. I built muscle. I gained confidence. And somewhere along the way, movement stopped feeling like something I was doing TO my body and became one of the best ways I honor it. If you’re at the beginning right now, please don’t underestimate what can happen when you give yourself an entire year instead of another 30 days. The time is going to pass anyway. Pick up the dumbbells. Go for the walk. Eat the carbs. Live your freaking life. And KEEP. GOING. 👏🏼 You might not recognize what a year of that can do yet. But it’s worth finding out. #postpartum #postpartumjourney #workoutroutine #homeworkout
