Reducing your calorie intake DOES NOT cause weight loss? I was recently sent this video by a follower and I have actually been replying to Jason Fung long before it was cool. Even 7 years ago, I have videos explaining why he misrepresents metabolic adaptation. Hilariously, he even quoted a research paper that specifically called out people misrepresenting metabolic adaptation. Yes, your metabolic rate does reduce when you cut your calorie intake. It also increases if you eat more calories. That is because your metabolic rate is largely a reflection of your body mass, so if you weigh more, you need more food. Likewise, if you weigh less, you need less food. Yes, there is an adaptive component above and beyond that (likely a small percentage). But this whole thing that reducing your calorie intake doesn’t cause weight loss SO YOU SHOULD DO FASTING INSTEAD is absolute nonsense. Any questions? P.S., At the end of each post I let you know that if you want to support me, you can order my best-selling book, Everything Fat Loss (Iink in profile). #caloriedeficit #calories #caloriesincaloriesout #fasting #lowcarb
