‘Airlines’ is the biggest artwork in this collection Spanning a distance of 2.4m wide and 1.8m high, this diptych is filled with 12 litres of thick paint that is spread across the canvases diagonally using oversized brushes and steady movements. White lines cross over the blue field of colour to create tiny chemtrails from which tiny airplanes extend. These are the six various airlines I flew with this year, each from the six continents I had the privilege of making and showing my artworks. The idea for this piece came about while I was in Stuttgart, looking up at a sky riddled with white lines in the air. That’s when it popped in my head- Air lines. It’s a special piece with a special story. One that looks like an abstract artwork as much as it does a real scene. I can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions during my upcoming exhibition in Berlin in exactly one month!
