ChatGPT can now send and read text messages for you. Today, the platform added native integration with iMessage, allowing the AI to have deep integration with consumer’s communication systems. But there are a lot of privacy concerns at play, while at the same time, imessage inboxes are becoming the new email. Most people feel like their text inboxes are just unwieldy and overrun with spam, marketing messages, and group chats that they’ll never catch up on. OpenAI is saying, hey, let our AI read, search, and analyze your message history and we will help you handle that. The company’s head of developer relations is encouraging users to use this functionality to figure out things like who you talk to most, what you talk about most frequently, and who and what you forgot to follow up with.
