I will do a video on baking with homegrown poppy seeds in the next few days. I’ve made the most wonderful bagels. The Breadseed poppy (Papaver somniferum) and its many varieties is an annual flower providing a stunning splash of colour every spring in our gardens. The breadseed poppy can be harvested and used to re sow in other areas of the garden. The bees seem to love them. The seeds can also be used when ripe for baking breads, buns, baps and bagels. Do check you have identified the correct poppies for baking. Happy gardening and happy baking
