Plants I am growing that contain anthocyanins include raspberries, blackcurrants, red currants. The crops with the highest amount of anthocyanins are probably blueberries and elderberries. And funnily enough red wine. Although it can vary depending on variety and growing conditions. If you do a quick search you will see the many health benefits of eating fruit and vegetables high in anthocyanins. Ironically, you would expect beetroot and red leaved amaranth to be high in anthocyanins, but its deep red or purple colour are due to pigments called betalains. Plants featured include Red sweetcorn, purple French beans, black tomatoes, blueberries, red onions, red cabbage, purple sweet potato, purple carrots, beetroot, plums, raspberries, strawberries elderberries, red wine…not necessarily in that order! Very happy gardening
