Why are people skeptical of facial massage when it’s basically physical therapy for the face? Key caveat to this — this is only the case when it’s done correctly. A somatic approach is key. We already know that the entire body is deeply impacted by our internal emotional states and our stress levels. Tension in the mind = tension in the body. But this *really* is the case for the face, because it is the emotional expression center of the body and your facial muscles are literally designed to react to your emotions. So a mind-body approach during hands-on release for the face is so very important. We also want to treat the face differently than we do the rest of the body when we work with it. It is a more delicate, interconnected, and sensitive region of the body. So safety and efficacy are my top priorities and my methods that I teach. I’m certified in Facial Myofascial Release, and I’ve completed a facial dissection course along with several somatic trainings. Check out my page for techniques and more 🤍
