This is exactly why I talk about situational awareness in every workplace. What happened here is frustrating. This POS walked into a business and stole a receptionist’s purse. And while the responsibility always lies with the thief, there are ways we can reduce opportunity and protect ourselves. 🔺In policing, we use something called the Crime Triangle: a motivated offender, a suitable target, and an opportunity. We can’t control the offender, but we can make ourselves less of a target. Small habits matter: ✅ don’t leave personal items visible ✅ secure valuables even when stepping away briefly ✅ stay aware of who has access to your space. Remove one side of the triangle, and you reduce the chance of a crime happening. And just to be clear, this is NOT victim blaming. The only person responsible for stealing is the thief. If you recognize this individual, please contact Toronto Police or Crime Stoppers. Video Credit: (IG @drdavidboudana) #theft #crimetriangle #crimeprevention
