Over the past two-ish years I have saved every makeup remover wipe I used, even when I was on set or out of town (would tuck them carefully into my suitcase pocket). I started collecting because it always made me sad throwing them away. It felt wasteful - they are pretty, like paintings on a soft little cloth, but I didn't know what to do with them at first, so I just kept them in a box. After a few months I started scanning them in. I like that you can see the small changes in my everyday routine (black mascara to brown, warm cheek and lip tones to cool). There's probably something here to be said about being a human being or a woman with daily rituals, tiny private rituals in relation to the appearance, or maybe to self-expression, but I don't know what it is exactly. Sorry! I'll think on it. My adoration of self-documentation only grows. I recently made the switch to micellar water, bringing this collection to a close.
