What did you study, or do, or obsess over before this that you thought had nothing to do with where you ended up? (ad) I spent years apologizing for my architecture degree in rooms full of MBAs. Turns out it was the only thing that made me see business differently. I didn't start with a trend report. I started with a problem. A skin problem the industry was profiting off of. I listened to my community, then turned to farms to find solutions. Nonlinear, messy, and completely human. Got to explore this at the @CapCut SXSW Design panel, talking about taste, creativity, and why the most important thing you bring to any tool or process is still your point of view. Had an early look at their Design Studio and for the first time a creative tool actually felt like the way my brain works. Not one output and done. More like thinking out loud on a wall. Whatever made you feel like you didn't belong - that's exactly what was supposed to get you in the room.
