Two bills, SB 119 and AB 2023, are currently making their way through California legislature. These two bills, if approved, would establish more mandatory safeguards to protect children interacting with Al chatbots. The companion bills would establish more requirements and penalties for Al chatbot operators. Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan is co-sponsoring AB 2023 with Assemblymember Buffy Wicks.
