I get this question a lot: is it better to have a sweet breakfast or to skip it? When you wake up your stomach is completely empty, you probably haven’t eaten for 12+ hours. So your body is very sensitive. Any sugar you consume will be absorbed very quickly into your bloodstream - creating a huge glucose spike and sending you on a rollercoaster of low energy and cravings for the rest of the day. What I would do instead: - Either skip breakfast entirely and have a savoury lunch later on OR - If you’re on the go and your only option is a sweet breakfast, try to incorporate some protein in it (like greek yogurt, nuts, cheese, eggs)
