๐ฃ Keep your brilliant ideas to yourself! I know that sounds counterintuitive but hear me out.... I think most of us grew up believing that being a good parent means having the answer ready. Your kid struggles, you swoop in, problem solved, everyone feels better for a second. Here's what took me a long time to see. Every time I do that, I'm not actually helping my kid, I'm just proving to them that the good ideas live in *me*, not in *them.* And they feel that, even if neither of us says it out loud. Self trust doesn't come from a childhood free of struggle. It comes from a kid sitting in the messy, uncertain middle of a hard problem and coming out the other side with something, anything, that was theirs. My job isn't to hand over the win. It's to be a steady presence while they find it themselves, even when every part of me wants to jump in. Where do you catch yourself stepping in too fast? Tell me in the comments.
