Right beside the Trevi Fountain is a church holding the preserved organs of 22 popes. 😳 For roughly 300 years, the organs were removed during embalming and sealed beneath the altar while the popes’ bodies were buried elsewhere. The tradition ended in 1903—but the organs reportedly remain under the church today. The church is called Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio, and it also contained some of the most interesting Christian symbols I’ve ever seen. ⛪️
