This was so much bigger than just starting a game. Seeing 50,000 fans stand for one incredibly courageous seven-year-old kid was a moment I’ll never forget! Before the game, Kyson was quiet. I could tell he was nervous…but we spent a lot of time together getting ready for his moment, and I reassured him that we’d have fun with all the Bananas behind him. As we walked out I couldn’t stop thinking about everything this seven-year-old had already been through just to get to this moment. Kyson was diagnosed with brain cancer and missed his entire first-grade year while undergoing treatment. He had five rounds of chemotherapy, three stem cell transplants and thirty rounds of radiation. Then, on June 8, 2026, Kyson rang the bell. And last weekend, he walked out in front of 50,000 fans. Our team had worked with him on the dance. Anna Mark and Trevor helped him learn it and get comfortable. And when it was finally time, Kyson and I walked out together to open the game with our new original song, The Show Starts Now. I watched his smile come out as he danced and performed for the crowd. And then I watched 50,000 people came to their feet and celebrated him with a standing ovation! I’ll never forget the sound of that crowd. Show Starts Now was created to bring energy and excitement to the beginning of our games. But Kyson made it mean so much more. It became a celebration of courage. Of overcoming adversity. Of a seven-year-old who has already fought battles most of us can’t imagine and still had the courage to step onto a field in front of 50,000 people and dance. I’m so grateful to Kyson and his family for trusting us with this moment. Grateful to Anna Mark and our players for surrounding and celebrating him before and afterward. And grateful to 50,000 people who made sure Kyson knew just how special he is. This is what I hope The Show Starts Now can become. Not just an opening to a game. But an opportunity to shine the biggest spotlight on our fans who deserve to be celebrated. Thank you, Kyson, for being brave enough to take that field. The show started with you. And you stole the show!
