George Clooney is supporting Mark Ruffalo's ability to speak freely. Speaking at the Venice Film Festival, Clooney defended Mark Ruffalo after Paramount criticized the actor over his comments about the proposed Paramount-Warner Bros. merger and the Ellison family. “I believe in free speech, even when I completely disagree with it,” Clooney said. “In fact, it’s part of how a democracy works.” Clooney added that people are supposed to argue their differences and draw conclusions from the information available to them. “I will always support Mark Ruffalo’s ability to speak freely,” he said. “I like him, he’s a good man.”
