One of the blessed moments of clarity I’ve had on this #cancer journey was saying yes to #TheRealFullMonty. I was coming out of a medicine journey in the jungles of Columbia (more on that later) and in the Miami airport when I heard Anthony Anderson was putting together a group of men to do this special to raise awareness for early cancer detection. The gimmick to bring attention: Learn and perform the Full Monty strip tease in a theater in front of a live audience. My heart knew I was doing it. And my brain was just going to have to deal. The experience was every bit as charming as the original movie, and Taye Diggs Bruno Toniolio, Tyler Posey, Chris Jones and Anthony were the perfect support group to talk about my diagnosis with before anyone knew. We laughed, we danced, we bonded, we stripped. Bruno cried, and then we laughed some more. I hope you enjoy tonight… and may the message land.
