I’m currently overseas, and yesterday I woke up to the heartbreaking news that Dolly Parton had passed away. I was devastated. Although Dolly was best known for her extraordinary music, she was every bit as extraordinary as a philanthropist. In 2023, I joined Marla Tellez on FOX 11’s “In Depth,” hosted by Hal Eisner, to discuss the California expansion of one of Dolly’s most meaningful legacies: Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. In her memory, I wanted to share this interview again. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library continues to serve families across California. Children from birth to age five can receive a FREE, age-appropriate book in the mail every month—at no cost to their families.
