“Hope isn't passive. It’s not waiting for the world to get kinder. It’s a disciplined, active insistence on building a community where you feel safe.” After two incredible years of leadership as CEO of The Trevor Project, Jaymes Black (they/she/he) took a moment to reflect on hope and suicide prevention in a changing world. Jaymes reminds us that belonging and love cut through fear, and that The Trevor Project is committed to being here for LGBTQ+ young people in moments of both. Through both trial and turmoil, setbacks and funding cuts, Jaymes remains hopeful and future oriented as a direct way to reflect his love for queer and trans youth. Happy 2 Year Anniversary to our phenomenal CEO, Jaymes Black! Thank you for continuing to guide us toward the brighter day that we deserve and that already belongs to us. 🧡
