the TRUTH about tourette’s💗 these are all real things i’ve had said to me, online and in person. even just several weeks ago in London i ended up sitting with 2 lovely men, who got chatting to me about my tourette’s (it started because one of them thought i had hiccups) and it was clear the stereotypes still around about TS. they were really lovely and kind to me, but one of them was making jokes and focusing on the swearing aspect, until we educated him a bit💗 i’m not a complete snowflake, i know tourette’s can be funny. that’s just the nature of the condition sometimes, i’ve shared content that is more to smile at, i’m well aware of the humor in this condition, learning to laugh with it has taken time. i probably laugh at a tic of mine atleast once a day or every other day bc it catches me off guard. and i can have a laugh with family, friends, IF it’s a funny tic. but there’s a whole side to tourette’s that people never take into consideration….🧠 one thing that’s been really difficult for me lately is my neck and the neck cracks. honestly, before i had dystonia and contractions in my neck, it would never crack when ticcing before. but the cracks have been brutal lately and so painful. the scariness of using cutlery and scissors, spraying numbing spray on my throat to try and help the pain of throat tics, the pure anxiety of ticcing in public, trying to hold it all in for the benefit of others. i could go on and on. but please remember the examples in this video are from my own case of tourette’s. everyone is different, i didn’t include everything but not everyone will experience all of these, and some will experience even more. every individual with tourette’s is like a fingerprint all unique and different💞 also remember some days you wouldn’t even know i have tourette’s. some days all i do is move and tic. everyday is different💗 this is the truth behind it💗🧠 #tourettes #tourettesawareness #tourettessyndrome #tics #fyp
