BS is in green all over this week and we’re not complaining. He’s exploring the Northern Territory and on a wander through the rocky landscape to find a massive ancient gorge carved through sandstone. It’s time for BS to do some rock hopping, rock straddles and to touch some sandstone balls. The classic leg up rock stance is used effectively. Passing some Darwin Grevilleas and a Potter Wasp nest, BS makes his way down the hill. He’s got hot water and buffalos to see. Next stop is the boab tree and a compulsory tree hug. The bulging trunk is conserving water for the dry season. BS can’t resist a slap of the trunk before he leaves. Some green tree ants and the thing he was hoping to see, the feral Water Buffalo bathing in a muddy puddle. After photographing a few Top End birds (the animal) BS arrives at the magical hot river. After a big toe temp check he cannot resist dipping the old grey swim shorts in. And what a current the pandanus and paper bark lined river is delivering. BS holds on for dear life but the teethy grin indicates pure joy. And the aquatic guy is back where he belongs. Underwater with the fish and potential freshwater crocodiles. An evening stroll topped off what was an epic day for little BS. He’d had a tip off that a donkey was up the red dirt path just past the pink boganvillia so he was on a mission. And he saw one of his Top 5 favourite non native animals - the donkey, amongst some pretty handsome horsies. Where next on the amazing Northern Territorial odyssey?
