I waited almost two hours for the opportunity to ask this question. Not to argue. Not to attack. But because 93 homeowners deserve to understand what is happening with THEIR association and THEIR money before being asked for THEIR vote. There are 93 homes in our community only myself and 1 more outside board members are even on the call. Our association is now facing thousands of dollars in legal debt from our former attorneys. And before they realized I was on the call, a board member stated that the association had never experienced legal issues or financial debt like this before “this one family.”That family is mine. I refuse to allow my children or my family to become the face of a financial problem homeowners deserve to fully understand. If money was spent pursuing legal action involving my child, accountability shouldn’t begin with blaming my family. It should begin with asking: What was authorized? How much was spent? Who approved it? And what did homeowners know? Now homeowners’ votes are needed for decisions that could allow reserve funds to be used toward this legal obligation. That’s why INFORMATION MATTERS. We, the people, are the majority. The sad part is that somewhere along the way, we’ve either lost our way, forgotten the power we hold, or simply never learned that the rules can work for us when we understand them. #HOA #florida #federal #money #debt
