Inside a freezer, they discovered female genital tissue individually packaged and labeled, along with surgical instruments, anesthetic and photographs. Investigators believed Frederiksen had been drugging women and removing parts of their genitals, apparently keeping the tissue as trophies. But what made the case even more disturbing was how police found the collection in the first place: Frederiksen's own wife had gone to authorities with allegations against him. And shortly afterward, she would become involved in an entirely different and shocking part of the investigation. As detectives dug deeper, they uncovered evidence that went far beyond the freezer—including allegations involving child sexual abuse, pornography, and a plot to have his wife killed. And then came one of the strangest twists of the entire case: Frederiksen was actually cleared of the charges directly involving the body parts found in his freezer because of a loophole in South African law. That, however, was nowhere near the end of the story.
