Another day, another dog dumped on a dirt road in Montgomery County. This sweet, shy bulldog mix didn’t end up here by accident. Someone made the choice to leave her behind. When we moved here, I knew the need was great. I’m grateful to be where I can make a difference, but living next to what feels like a dog dumping spot is heartbreaking. Right now, we don’t have a long-term plan for her. Our rescue is completely overloaded, and we simply can’t keep every dog we find. Our hope is that a foster steps up so she can avoid the shelter. If that doesn’t happen, we’ll make sure she gets safely to our community shelter, where they’ll continue networking her for rescue or adoption. Rescue isn’t about having unlimited space. It’s about making the best decision possible for each dog with the resources available. If you’ve been thinking about fostering, this sweet girl could be the one who changes your life.
