This morning, Landry was posted on Facebook as an injured dog in desperate need of help. I rushed to the park and it took me 30 minutes to get there. I was stunned to see she still hadn’t moved and was lying there in pain, just hoping someone would help her. As I approached, I was cautious because injured dogs often bite out of fear and pain. But to my surprise, she was nothing but sweet. The yard crew stayed with her while I ran back to move my car closer. When she saw me walking away, she slowly peeled herself off the ground and painfully tried to follow me. Watching her choose to trust me after only a few moments of kindness was absolutely heartbreaking. I knew right then she was a special girl. I loaded her up and rushed her to VEG ER. She is microchipped, but that’s a longer story I’ll update everyone on later. Right now, the priority is getting her stabilized and figuring out the extent of her injuries. She is currently undergoing a sedated clip and clean so the medical team can fully assess the damage. Her bone, muscle, and tendons are exposed, but unbelievably she is still able to use the leg. Based on the condition of the wounds, the dog attack likely happened about a week ago. We are extremely worried about how complicated her healing process may become, and we could really use support to help cover her emergency care and ongoing treatment. If you would like to help Landry fight for recovery, donations are tax deductible through Lola’s Lucky Day. Thank you for caring about this sweet girl. She deserved help long before today.
