County Executive Sam Page is once again calling for $1.7 million to fund proven violence reduction strategies in St. Louis County. It's part of the regional Save Lives Now! initiative through the East-West Gateway Council of Governments. This marks the fourth request to the County Council. Since the first request in April 2025, nearly 50 lives have been lost to homicide and dozens more impacted by nonfatal shootings. Cities and counties that have passed funding and implemented this programming, like Oakland and Baltimore, have seen over a 50% decrease in gun violence.
