Connie and I are heartbroken by the tragic passing of Pierre Damas Bel, a son, a talented soccer player, and a member of the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps. We mourn his loss alongside Pierre’s family, friends, and the Springfield community. Every Ohioan deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and to feel safe. I agree with Governor DeWine that the decision to suspend TPS for the Haitian community was wrong and has done nothing to make our communities safer.
