The chances of you ever making something that remotely sticks out in this world are so impossibly slim. Yet we try anyway. Why do we try? Why do we believe that our voices, thoughts, and ideas are so important? It’s selfish. Creating is selfish. We spend all this time in our heads, forcing our inner thoughts so deep that they can only come out on paper or through a screen, and we share these thoughts with the belief that they carry any sense of importance. But the importance shouldn’t matter to them — only to you. It isn’t until then that we realize who we do this for. It is selfish. And that’s okay. Through your selfishness, you will force someone to realize they aren’t alone. And that someone may only be you.
