For nearly nine months, my body hasn’t just been my own: it’s been home to my baby girl. It has given her everything she’s needed to grow. Diverting energy, nutrients and resources away from me and into her, putting her needs before mine every single day. It has been, without a doubt, the most physically and emotionally challenging thing I’ve ever experienced. And somehow, at the very same time, the most beautiful. Now, in these final few weeks, I find myself desperately ready for this chapter of discomfort to end. I’m ready to meet her. To see the little face I’ve spent months imagining. To finally hold the person I’ve already grown to love. But it also feels bittersweet to know this is also the end of something. For nearly nine months, it has just been the two of us. She has been with me everywhere, every walk, every journey, every quiet moment. Soon, I’ll have to share her with the rest of the world. While I can’t wait for everyone who loves us to meet her, there’s something incredibly precious about these final days where she is still entirely mine and I am entirely hers. So for now, I’m trying to slow down and appreciate this little life we’ve shared before everything changes forever 🩷✨ #pregnancy #firsttimemom
