Step one of changing your identity isn't affirmations. It's telling yourself the truth. Before you build the new identity, you need a clear analysis of the current one, without lying in EITHER direction. Most people distort it one of two ways. Some make it WORSE than it is, the catastrophe story, because drama feels like accountability. Others make it BETTER than it is, soften it, spin it, because the truth is uncomfortable. Both are lies. And your brain can't navigate from a false starting point. You can't build a route if the map says you're somewhere you're not. So you look in the mirror and say it plainly: If you're overweight: 'I'm overweight. That's where I am right now.' If the money isn't there: 'I'm not making enough money right now.' If the company is winning but built wrong: 'I'm successful, AND I'm not building this the right way.' Deep down you already know. This is just the first time you stop negotiating with it. THE RULE: you use those words ONCE. During the analysis. This is not a script you repeat every morning - that's just self-beating with extra steps. Honest words are for the diagnosis, not for daily use. After the analysis, the language flips. You create the identity you want, and from that moment your words align to THAT: 'As of now, I am...' and whatever you're becoming. Then watch your mouth and your behavior. Your words are magic. Every sentence you say about yourself is an instruction, and your actions are the proof your brain uses to decide who you are. Truth first. Then speak the man you're becoming, and act like him. ๐ค What's the one true sentence you've been avoiding? ๐ #identity #neuroscience #selfmastery #innerwork #personalgrowth
