Was nervous to share this but I am committed to being 100% honest as I document my health journey! If you are on a health journey this is your reminder that progress isn’t always linear❤️Over the last two months of summer, my mental health took a hit which cause me to gain close to 10 lbs at one point. For reference, I only gained 5 lbs after a year of being off a glp1 so this was quite the change. I’ve already lost some of that, but more importantly, I started noticing a decline in how I felt physically and mentally. Three years ago, I went through a period where I gained around 40 lbs pretty rapidly, and I remember how long I ignored the signs that I wasn’t feeling like myself. This time, I want to make a change before I get to that place again and I really want to try and do it without the help of meds. I’m not a big believer in quick fixes, and I don’t see 28 days as some magical transformation. For me, this is a RESET. A short, intense commitment to rebuilding the routine, discipline and consistency that I know make me feel my best. And it’s completely different from how I normally train. We’re doing high reps, lower weights and pushing my body in a new way, all under the supervision of expert @catchngo at @iconoclastnyc Gym. When I got the opportunity to train with him, I felt like it was something I had to at least try and give my all! I also want to be really clear: this isn’t about punishing my body for gaining weight or believing that a smaller body is a better body. Bodies change. Weight fluctuates. Life happens. For me, the bigger red flag was the decline in how I was feeling and knowing that some of the habits that make me feel strong, energized and grounded had disappeared. So, 28 days. Not a forever plan. Not a quick fix. Just an opportunity to reset, challenge myself, rebuild my routine and hopefully come out of it feeling a little more like me again. ❤️🔥 Day 1, let’s do this.💪🏼
