🤣🙈 Okayyyy…so here’s what happened. I invited my MOM onstage in Los Angeles. It was her BIRTHDAY, and we wanted to do a duet, because we’ve been singing together at the piano ever since I was little. As we were performing Wild Horses, the Wurlitzer went WILDLY out of tune. Like…horribly, un-singably out of tune. And at that moment, my mom did a very courageous thing. She stopped playing. Jack quickly came out and got the keyboard to a workable state, and then we finished the song. This is one of the things that I admire most about my mom: her ability to say when something is off - to name it, even when it’s “inconvenient.” Even when most people would power through and cry about it later. It’s one of the greatest gifts my mom has given me (other than her ear and love of music) - the ability to pause and speak up when something doesn’t feel right. Thanks, mom ♥️
