‘SLUMP’ ROCK COFFEE TABLE 🌊 by PAUL COCKSEDGE For sales enquiries, please contact the studio directly via: info@paulcocksedgestudio.com “It’s about creating a frozen moment. I was walking by the river, seeing these rocks poking their heads above the water line. I wanted to freeze that moment somehow – so I chose glass as the medium. We rest the flat sheet on the pinnacle of the rock and as we heat it the glass softens and moves. When I see it we hit the switch, it cools down and we create that frozen moment.” ‘Slump’ is derived from a casual visual gesture. But the process of reworking a sheet material that has been made intentionally flat, while avoiding putting ‘stress’ back into the glass as it reforms over its rest, is complex. #PaulCocksedge #DesignTikTok #ArtTok #ContemporaryDesign #GlassArt #SculptureArt #InteriorInspo #ModernFurniture #DesignProcess #BehindTheDesign #FurnitureDesign #CreativeProcess #LimitedEditionDesign #MadeInBritain #ArtCollectorLife #StudioVibes #ArtFurniture #InteriorStyle #ObjectArt #FunctionalArt
