🇮🇹 Before the sausage & peppers… you stop and see Saint Anthony. Patty & Patty are at the East Harlem Giglio Feast carrying on a tradition brought to New York by Italian immigrants more than a century ago: pinning a donation to Saint Anthony of Padua. 🙏💵 The East Harlem Giglio tradition traces its roots to Brusciano, near Naples, where the Giglio is carried in honor of Saint Anthony. Immigrants from the area brought the celebration to East Harlem in the early 1900s, turning a neighborhood feast into a living connection between generations. As Patty puts it: “You gotta put your money on the saint!” 🇮🇹❤️ Tradition first. THEN sausage & peppers. 🌭😂 #PattyAndPatty #EastHarlemGiglio #ItalianAmerican #SaintAnthony #ItalianTraditions
