Sammy was born into a slaughter holding facility face down into a metal gate which forced his eyelashes into his eyelid and eye. He remained like that for an indeterminate amount of time, but long enough to do significant damage to his eye. We sent him to a major hospital to have corrective surgery but Sammy had other plans— he hated the stitches and the feeling of something in his eye (as anyone would) and kept scratching his eye with a rear hoof, making things so much worse. What could we do? There was only thing to do… Enter Sammy’s Secret, a protective braglasses built to withstand any size hoof. His eyes are healing. Since he looks like he’s been beamed down from space, we donned an astronaut suit so he would feel silly… JK— Sammy is still in QT for one more week, so we’re wearing protective PPE.
