Why should we study the deep sea? For marine biologist Sheena Talma, that question carries a different weight. She is from Seychelles, an island nation surrounded by deep ocean. “Why is the Seychelles deep sea important? I guess, first and foremost, we don’t even know.” The deep sea makes up most of the habitable space on our planet, yet we know so little about it.
