Nearly 30 years after Tupac Shakur’s death, a jury in Las Vegas on Monday found Duane Keith Davis guilty of orchestrating the 1996 murder. For three decades, the drive-by shooting of the rap star went unresolved in criminal court. The case was revived after Davis began speaking publicly about the killing — including in podcast interviews and a 2019 memoir — handing prosecutors evidence on which to charge him. Prosecutors accused Davis of obtaining the gun used in the shooting and pursuing Shakur during a gang war that had become entangled with a feud between two East and West Coast hip-hop labels.
