I really didn’t think I’d make it this long at one point let alone be posting about it. I think when people stop drinking there’s sometimes an inner shame when sharing this kind of thing. It is to be celebrated, I could go on and say how great I feel, my skin has never looked better, I have great mental clarity and so much energy but we’ve all heard that. I told myself when I reached one year “oh it’s not that big of a deal, women stop drinking for 9 months to have a baby” and therefore I said to myself when I reached the 2 year point that’s the a real commitment “now you’re serious”. I should have celebrated at the one year mark and every milestone and so should you, whether it’s giving up gambling, or 💊, or sugar even. To be honest the second year has required much less effort, as you phase something out of your life it’s no longer a habit, you’ve done every season, christenings, weddings, birthdays, the holidays, funerals, vacations, it no longer comes into my mind that way. I appreciate and thank everyone who supported & supports me on this journey and I cheer everyone else on too who is committing to something and showing up for themselves. Keep loving you. Keep shining ✨ #alcoholfree #health #mindfulness #sobriety #2ndbirthday
