It pushes you into its narrow alleys, where buildings nearly touch each other overhead and light barely makes it through — and you have no choice but to follow. I was walking toward Naples Central Station to catch a train back to Rome. Camera around my neck, two phones in my pockets, a shoulder bag with a charger. Everything a content creator needs on the move. Thirty minutes earlier I’d lost my memory card — somewhere between the faces and alleyways of this city, while filming someone else. I’d already made peace with it. And then — Luigi. Standing in an alleyway, the ancient narrow streets of Naples behind him. Not posing. Not waiting for anyone. Just existing — with that effortless presence only certain people carry. I reached for my camera. Nothing. Memory card — gone. I pulled out my phone. It’s not the same thing. Anyone who’s ever held a real camera knows that. But some moments don’t wait. And Luigi was one of those moments. 🇮🇹 Napoli non ti chiede il permesso. Ti spinge dentro i suoi vicoli stretti, dove i palazzi si toccano quasi e la luce arriva a fatica — e tu non puoi fare altro che seguire. Stavo camminando verso la Napoli Centrale i per prendere il treno e tornare a Roma. Una fotocamera al collo, due telefoni in tasca, una borsa a tracolla con il caricabatterie. Tutto l’essenziale di un content creator in movimento. Trenta minuti prima avevo perso la scheda di memoria — da qualche parte tra i volti e i vicoli di questa città, mentre filmavo qualcun altro. Me n’ero già fatto una ragione. E poi — Luigi. In piedi in un vicolo, sullo sfondo le strade strette e antiche di Napoli. Non stava posando. Non stava aspettando nessuno. Esisteva e basta, con quella naturalezza che solo certe persone hanno. Ho allungato la mano verso la fotocamera. Zero. Scheda di memoria — assente. Ho tirato fuori il telefono. Non è la stessa cosa.
