ABC News confirmed that the images were not made using AI. One of the post's caption, written in Spanish, read: “I want you to know that we stand firm, our hearts overflowing with your love, a love that reaches us transformed into prayer, constant action, solidarity, and genuine support.” Maduro also shared that he sent the photos, taken on Jun. 25, 2026, “as a small gift” to his grandchildren and “all the kind people who love us”. This comes months after he and his wife were captured during a U.S. military operation in January this year, before being transported to a detention centre in Brooklyn on drug and narco-terrorism charges.
