My first major weight fluctuation was after I quit playing competitive soccer after some pretty gnarly concussions and a few major knee surgeries. My whole life changed. I went up 5 sizes and felt so out of control, after spending my entire life a competitive athlete and then… having no activity whatsoever. My second major fluctuation— the extreme diet I started (advocare) a year or so after the end of my athletic career. The third— After “the 30 day advocare challenge” was done. The fourth- starting the challenge all over again And the next 5-6 years i struggled with multiple different eating disorders until I entered recovery and had another weight fluctuation due to actually feeding my body properly. But instead of panicking, my dietitian taught me how to trust my body. And slowly but surely that trust grew. And grew. And grew. Until I I began trusting that fluctuations happen for a whole lot of reasons and purposes. My body was simply doing what a body is supposed to do: Shift, expand, shrink, ebb and flow in response to my priorities changing, life changing, aging, switching how i was eating due to chronic illnesses, grieving, being sad, being happy, and all of the experiences life offers. #normalizenormalbodies #womenshealthmatters #edrecoveryjourney #transformations
