From the groundbreaking in 1991 to opening day in 1995, the C line has connected Angelenos for more than three decades. Originally known as the Green Line, it opened with a 20-mile route connecting Norwalk to Redondo Beach. In 2024, the line was reconfigured to connect riders directly to LAX/Metro Transit Center, marking another milestone in its history and continuing its role in connecting Angelenos across the region. To celebrate, we’re taking you back in time with never-before-seen photos from the Metro Library & Archives to revisit early moments from the C Line’s history. Swipe through the years and celebrate 31 years of the C Line!
