I woke early from lingering jetlag spinning off of the 12 hours of delayed flight travel that left me in a city I never planned to be in. I’m writing to you from Buffalo, NY. The space ok travel limbo finally offered some time to reflect on the last few months and I stumbled over some behind the scenes photos that @kylieprints took. My team and I have been going so full steam ahead, that I hadn’t even had a moment to open the folder up and see all of the gems inside. It’s amazing how easy it is to be swept away by your own momentum. I’m realizing that I live so much in the creation phrases of my own art, but once it’s out, thee demands of my independent career can pull me from the experience of fully soaking up and experiencing the work once it’s out in the world. It’s so hard to find the balance. This music video came out, we rolled right into Dancing and Crying Vol 3 releases, which rolled right into tour, and the fact that this video even exists feels a bit like an alternate dimension. But when I go back and watch it, even though this little paracosm was short-lived, I’m really proud of what we created as a team. I’ve been so hands-on with my own work, songwriting, graphic, designing, and editing my own videos in the past, but I really found a team that I trusted with this one. It was such an effortless experience, that was so genuinely fun that the memories still feel like a dream. K back to sleep and then I’ll make another attempt to get home in these thunderstorms! #kiesza #dancemusic #musicvideo #electronicmusic #indie
