So, I’m back... Three years ago today, Orla arrived into my life. And one year ago this week, I walked away from the project. I didn’t know if it was the end of the road entirely but I needed a break. I had burnt myself out sharing content online every week for 2 years and just needed some rest. Living onboard never lived up to the hopes and dreams I set and I was doubtful whether the sacrifices had been worth it. Sheepishly, I walked away with my tail between my legs unclear if I would ever come back. 365 days later and I know now that stepping away was the right call. The time away has taught me new lessons about the project and provided clarity only available in hindsight. So for the next few weeks I’ll be sharing 7 or so videos explaining what happened in London that sent me scarpering, what the experience taught me about fear and failure, and why I’m weirdly grateful it worked out exactly how it did. These aren’t videos for the algorithm or views, they’re to explain to you what happened. And, selfishly, they’re to help me process what the end of a project like this means. I also can’t wait to share what I’ve been up to over the last year and where that’s sending me next (with hopefully a video a week and a brand new series!) #boat #canal #tinyhouse #fyp #foryou
