Today we are back and I am showing you how I fill up my raised beds and large containers, in a way that’s affordable, yet effective. Raised beds and large containers are a fantastic way to grow a variety of plants, flowers and vegetables at home, but they can get very expensive to fill. Which is why I use the Hugelkultur method, to have the best growing season ever, without breaking the bank. I’ve been growing in raised beds for around ten years now and I’ve filled every one of my beds using this method, with tremendous results. Simply line the bottom with cardboard to supress any weeds, then like a lasagna, add old logs, twigs, organic matter, top soil and then your miracle grow all purpose compost on top. Just make sure you add a layer of compost that is at least 10-12 inches deep for the best results. As the season continues, after three months your plants might benefit from a weekly dose of liquid or granular feed, to keep them growing to their full potential 😊🌱 As always thank you for watching, and I love you all, Joe #gardentips #compost #gardening #zerowaste #
