I think I found one of my new favorite summer day trips from Tokyo. Kuroyama Santaki is hidden away in the mountains of Saitama, surrounded by forests, waterfalls and small local food stalls. The whole area has a really peaceful feeling that makes you forget you’re only a few hours away from the city. I ended up catching my own rainbow trout, having it grilled fresh, and trying handmade mochi from a local family run stall. If you’re looking for somewhere to escape the crowds and experience a different side of Japan, save this one. Location: 1445-2 Kuriyama, Ogose-cho, Iruma-gun, Saitama Hours: 10:00-16:00 #japantravel #summerinjapan
