A lot of people don’t realize that when you go to jail or prison for a long time, your financial life on the outside doesn’t just stop. Bills can keep coming, automatic payments can keep pulling and accounts can keep going negative while you’re literally not even there to deal with any of it. So when I got out, my finances were an absolute disaster 😂 I owed Verizon, creditors and basically everybody with a phone number. My credit was HORRIBLE and I had so much debt that it felt impossible to even know where to start. Then Covid happened and when those stimulus checks came, I decided I was going to use that money to start cleaning up my life. I paid down debt, worked on my credit little by little and just kept going. Today I’m completely debt free and investing my own money, which is something I genuinely never thought I would be able to say. So if you’re looking at your debt right now feeling embarrassed or completely overwhelmed, girl please do not count yourself out. You do not have to fix everything overnight. Start somewhere and keep going. If I could climb my way out of the financial mess I was in, there’s hope for you too 😂 Debt payoff, rebuilding credit, debt free journey, financial literacy, investing for beginners, personal finance, Fidelity investing #investingtips #financialfreedom
